"I originally contacted the Home Healing Team as I had never felt comfortable in my house, especially when I was on my own. My husband had left more than a year previously following a difficult last few years of our long relationship. I had never liked the marital home, I had never felt 'safe' there for reasons I couldn't explain. In fact, I felt so uncomfortable when the children were at school and my ex-husband at work that I would always find somewhere to go (shops, relatives etc) rather than be there on my own.

The Home Healing Team were lovely and spent several hours in my house and garden. They explained that it would be about two weeks before I began to notice changes. However, after they left, I immediately felt the house was lighter and brighter. Then, over the following days, I realised that I was no longer finding reasons to take me out of the house.
